Studio Artist Program Auditions

The Studio Artist Program will feature performances of The Fall of The House of Usher by Philip Glass. Directed by Richard Gammon. Singers selected also will perform in the mainstage production of The Flying Dutchman on July 29 and 31 in Merrill Auditorium under the direction of Dona D. Vaughn with Maestro Israel Gursky conducting. Singers will be asked to arrive June 22 to begin rehearsals for the Studio Artist Program on June 23. Departure on August 1.

Applications for the 2020 Studio Artist Program are being accepted through YAP Tracker until Wednesday, February 12, 2020

At Opera Maine, emerging professional singers master their craft through performance. Each member of the Opera Maine Studio Artist Program has the opportunity to sing in performances of the Studio Artist Opera Production. They also will have roles in the mainstage production with opportunities to cover supporting roles alongside Metropolitan Opera singers at the premier summer opera company in New England. Housing in beautiful Portland, Maine is provided with competitive pay.

Studio Artist Program stipend provided. Separate fees for performing in the Chorus and/or comprimario roles are available. Housing provided for non-local Studio Artists.

Submission of Materials:
Opera Maine will be using YAP Tracker to receive applicant materials for the Studio Artist Program.
