General Information
Applications will be accepted through YAP Tracker between October 1 – November 1.
The Studio Artist Program will feature performances June 25 and 27, 2027 of Empty The House, composed by Rene Orth with libretto by Mark Campbell, conducted by Lance Inouye and directed by Studio Artist Program Director Richard Gammon. Singers selected will also perform in the mainstage production with opportunities to be cast in supporting roles and cover leading roles in Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell’s The Shining (performances on July 22 and 25, 2027 in Portland’s State Theater) and under the direction of Dona D. Vaughn and conductor Maestro Israel Gursky. Singers will arrive June 7 to begin rehearsals for the Studio Artist Program on June 8, with departure on July 26 following the production of The Shining.
Each member of the Opera Maine Studio Artist Program sings in performances of the Studio Artist Opera Production. They also sing in the mainstage chorus, with opportunities to be cast in supporting roles and cover leading roles. Program fee, host housing, and travel stipend provided.
