Opera Maine is seeking all voice parts for Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette Chorus in a fully staged production sung in French. Please consider this wonderful opportunity to join a professional opera cast and production crew.
Vocal Requirement: Please prepare one aria or art song in French.
Audition Details
Date: Saturday, March 7, 2026, 10:00 to 4:00 PM
Location: Mountainside Community Church, 18 Mountain Rd., Falmouth, Maine. Accompanist provided.
To schedule an audition: Please email op**************@***il.com, subject “Chorus Audition,” to schedule an appointment. Please include a resume or tell us about your musical training. Please include any dance and/or movement training you have had.
If you cannot attend the auditions in person but would like to be considered, please send a recent (within six months) high-quality YouTube video to act as your vocal audition. Deadline for video submissions is March 5, 2026.
Rehearsal Schedule
CHORUS MUSIC REHEARSALS: Most Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings beginning May 2, 2026 at Mountainside Community Church, 18 Mountain Road, Falmouth, Maine.
STAGING REHEARSALS for the Chorus: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons beginning Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Added rehearsals during tech week (July 13-20). Dress Rehearsal is Tuesday, July 21. Performances will be on Thursday evening, July 23, and Sunday afternoon, July 26, 2026. Merrill Auditorium.
